ECL, which stands for Exceptionally Capable Learners is a site discretionary club which serves as an enrichment program for high achieving third grade students who have the potential to become GATE students in 4th-6th grade.  Students are recommended into ECL by their third grade classroom teachers primarily from their second grade assessment scores, DRA reading level, overall academic ability exhibited on a daily basis in the classroom, and behavior.  Permission slips to participate in ECL are sent home during the third or fourth week of September and are accepted until the last day of September.  During the first week of October, a parent meeting is held and then weekly sessions begin in mid-October with meetings held every Monday from 2:30-3:15 in Room 22.  (See this year's schedule below.)  The program is limited to 20 students.  For more information, please feel free to contact Mrs. Wagner in Room 22.
